Uploading your music on UnitedMasters is simple and fast. Before uploading your music please ensure you set up your Wallet for payment. You can read this helpful article for more information on Wallet Basics.
Once you have ensured your PayPal is connected, go to the "Music” section of your UnitedMasters profile, which is located on the left hand side of the screen.
If you have not already done so, you will be asked to choose which Spotify & AppleMusic artist pages you want your music to go to.
From here, you will be able to choose the option to have your music distributed to past Spotify and Apple artist pages, or to create new Spotify and Apple artist pages.
If you would like to have your music distributed to existing artist pages, click “Yes.” From there you will be able to type in your artist name, then choose exactly which page your music should be distributed to. Please be sure to enter the artist name spelling exactly as it appears on Spotify or Apple Music so we can ensure your music appears on your artist profile.
If you would like to have your music distributed to new pages, click “No” and then type in your artist name for your new pages.
Once you are done selecting your artist pages, you will be able to add your audio files. UnitedMasters supports 16-bit or 24-bit .wav or .flac files with sample rates of 44.1, 48, 96, 176.4, and 192 kHz. For the best quality, we recommend 24 bit .wav files at a sample rate of 192 kHz. Please also ensure your audio file is under 150 mb.
After uploading your audio files, you may then upload your cover art work. For more information on what cover art work is acceptable, please reference this article here.
From there, you will be able to enter in all of your metadata, ranging from your song title, genre, songwriter name etc. It is very important to make sure all of your metadata is complete and accurate.
Next you will be prompted to the split pay screen. If you have a paid UnitedMasters membership, you will be able to input the exact split percentages you and your collaborators share. If you are not using split pay, feel free to just hit the next button.
Then you will be prompted to choose your release date. Please choose a date at least 10 days in the future to ensure a smooth release process. Once you have chosen your date, confirm everything looks good and then agree to the terms and submit the release at the bottom, and you’re all set!
If you are using the iOS application, you can click on the human icon at the bottom of your screen, and
it will take you to a page where you can then select “+ New Release.”
Once you click on “+ New Release” you will be able to add your audio files, genre, cover art, etc.
Once you are done uploading all of your release information, you may choose to purchase mastering, or skip it.
Then you will be able to choose your release date, and submit your release.
