NOTE: As of December 1st, 2024, we confirm that there is an intermittent outage affecting the ability to connect Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts to UnitedMasters accounts, which may cause some users to have an unsuccessful connection/link to UnitedMasters.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, however connecting these pages/accounts to your UnitedMasters account WILL NOT impact the delivery of your music to Facebook and Instagram or any revenue earned by your music in these services.
UnitedMasters includes a feature for you to connect both your Facebook and Instagram on the Social page of UnitedMasters. This is a two-step process: Connect a Facebook artist page first, then connect an Instagram business profile afterward.
Please, note that it is not possible to connect personal Facebook or Instagram profiles. It must be a Business account for both cases.
Connecting Facebook
- The connection must be done using a laptop/computer
- Log into your Business Facebook account in one tab
- Log into your UnitedMasters account in another tab.
- Leave both tabs open
Step 1: Initiating the connection
Within the UnitedMasters tab, access the Social tab and click Connect under FACEBOOK:
Step 2: Set Up the Connection
Part I: If you are logged in correctly, you should see relevant information to your Facebook profile populate here. Click the “Continue as” button at the bottom.
Part II: Choose between “opt-in for all current and future pages” or “opt-in for current pages only” for current pages.
If you selected to opt-in for Current Pages only, choose any pages you would like to connect to your UnitedMasters profile.
Please note that our analytics on the UnitedMasters side only appear for one profile at a time and cannot have multiple pages connected to the same profile
Part III: Choose Instagram Accounts. Same for Facebook selection, choose between “ all current and future accounts” or “current Instagram accounts only”
Part IV: Review the next screen to ensure all information is correct. If everything looks good, hit Save:
Part 5: Once your Facebook profile has been successfully connected to UnitedMasters, you should receive a confirmation prompt that looks like this:
Step 3: Finish up connecting by heading back to UnitedMasters
Head back to your UnitedMasters Social tab and select the Facebook Page that you’d like to connect to your account from this drop-down menu, and then hit Done:
You’re all set! If you see a number populate under FACEBOOK on your Social Tab, then the connection was successful:
Connecting: Instagram
Troubleshooting: Facebook + Instagram
Step 1: Remove Existing UnitedMasters Connections
To get a good baseline for troubleshooting, let's remove the Facebook and/or Instagram connection you have on UnitedMasters. To do this, hover over the account on the Social page of UnitedMasters and click remove on the corresponding connection. Clear your browser cache and cookies and start the connection process listed above from scratch.
Step 2: Ensure Facebook artist page visibility
Next, go into your Facebook artist page settings and ensure that:
- Access General configuration
- Locate Page Visibility and set it to "Page published"
- Locate Country Restrictions and set it to "Page is visible/shown to everyone
- Locate Age Restrictions and set it to "Page is visible/shown to everyone"
Your settings should look like this:
Step 3: Facebook Page Roles
While in your Facebook artist page settings, head over to the Page Roles tab and ensure that your personal Facebook account has the Admin role enabled for the artist page.
If you don't have full admin access to the Facebook page, you'll need to set this up first before moving forward.
Step 4: Claim a possible unmanaged Facebook page
Sometimes when you create or convert your Instagram to a business profile, a Facebook page may have been generated for you, even if you didn't create it.
To claim an unmanaged Facebook Page:
- Go to your Instagram profile
- Tap ••• (iPhone) or (Android) in the top right.
- Scroll down to Business Information, then tap Claim Your Facebook Page.
- Log into your Facebook account to finish claiming your Page.
If you find that you do have an unmanaged Facebook page and don't intend to use it i.e. you already have a Facebook artist page, follow the steps above to claim the duplicate page, and then simply delete it in the page settings.
Step 5: Connecting/Reconnecting Instagram to Facebook page
Next, head over to your Facebook artist page settings and click on the Instagram tab. If your business profile has not been connected here, follow the steps to log in and connect it.
If it has been connected, scroll to the bottom to disconnect it and then reconnect it to restart things.
Step 6: Reconnect a Facebook Page to UnitedMasters
Next, let's reconnect your Facebook artist page to UnitedMasters. To ensure the right Facebook account gets connected, log out of Facebook in your browser first.
Then, click Connect Facebook on the Social page of UnitedMasters. This will prompt you to log in to Facebook and select a Facebook artist page to connect.
Step 7: Connect your Instagram to UnitedMasters
Now that we've gone through each scenario to prepare you to connect to Instagram, head over to UnitedMasters' Social page and click "Connect Instagram." If all of the above is true, the Instagram business profile linked with your Facebook artist page will connect automatically.
If you don't see the connection immediately, you'll want to refresh your browser window.
Please note that once connected, it may take up to a week to start seeing your Instagram data in UnitedMasters.
Connecting + Troubleshooting: X/Twitter + YouTube
You will see “Temporarily unavailable” under the TWITTER and YOUTUBE social connections in your UnitedMasters account:
We are unable to support connecting X/Twitter and YouTube accounts to UnitedMasters artist profiles at this time.
For more information regarding YouTube's Official Artist Channels, please see this page.
Still having trouble?
If you are sure that you've followed the above steps and are still unable to link your social media account(s) to your UnitedMasters account, it may be due to the outages that we are experiencing with these social connections, which are detailed at the top of this page.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do at this time to repair these outages, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to us at support@unitedmasters.com.
