Your release is scheduled to go live at 12:00 AM local time on your selected release date in each listener’s territory.
For example:
12:00 AM in New York (EST) for listeners in NYC
12:00 AM in Los Angeles (PST) for listeners in L.A.
12:00 AM in London (local time) for listeners in the U.K.
This means your release will appear at midnight based on each listener’s local time zone, rather than at the same exact moment worldwide.
If you’d like your release to go live at a different time, want it to go live at the same time across all territories, or have questions about scheduling, please reach out by submitting a support request.
Planning for a smooth release
To help avoid delays, we strongly recommend submitting your release at least 3 weeks before your scheduled release date. This allows time for:
Platform processing and review
Potential edits or corrections
Any unexpected issues that may need to be addressed before release day
Submitting earlier is especially important for time-sensitive releases.
Spotify delivery timelines
Spotify requires distributors to deliver content in advance of the release date so their systems have time to process, review, and publish it correctly.
For Spotify, this means:
New releases should be submitted at least 5 business days before the release date you select
Updates or takedowns (such as metadata edits, artwork changes, or removals) should be submitted at least 2 business days before the expected live change
Submitting your content within these timeframes helps ensure Spotify receives and processes your release on time. Submissions made closer to the release date may not be processed in time and could result in delays.
Important notes about timing
Delivery timing refers to when your content is successfully sent to the music platforms for processing, not the exact moment it will appear live
Final availability on Spotify can vary based on platform review and processing timelines, which are outside of UnitedMasters’ control. For best results, we recommend submitting your release as early as possible.
