UnitedMasters Referral Program - what is it and how does it work?

We’re excited to officially announce the launch of the UnitedMasters referral program!

We know how much work you put in as an independent artist with UnitedMasters and now we’re here to reward you for sharing UM with your friends, family, and fans.

It’s simple, share your unique referral link. For each successful referral, you will receive a $10 referral reward (limits apply) and your friend will receive $20 off their first year of UnitedMasters SELECT (please note that referral promotions may only be applied to UnitedMasters SELECT memberships at this time). Where do I find my referral link?

From iOS:

• Simply tap into your "SETTINGS" and then tap "REFER AN ARTIST". Next, tap "GENERATE REFERRAL LINK" to get your personalized code to share with friends to refer them to UnitedMasters.

From the web:

• Click "Refer an Artist" from the left-hand sidebar menu. Next, click "SHARE REFERRAL LINK" to share your personalized referral link.

Please note that It is important that the artist you are referring to uses the link that has been generated, as it will allow us to accurately trace their membership back to you (and reward you!). If they do not use the link that is generated, they may not qualify for your referral bonus. Referral links will be the same if generated from the web or iOS and are specific to each artist account that is generating them for a referral. We’re unable to apply referrals retroactively, so please make sure your link is being used when your referral signs up!

How do I share my referral link?

From iOS:

• Once you have tapped "GENERATE REFERRAL LINK’" simply tap on the share icon at the bottom right corner of your device to share!
• From there, you’ll be able to send your link in just a few taps across messaging, email, socials, or anywhere else you’d like to share the personalized link. Make sure you copy the correct link from the UnitedMasters application before sharing to ensure your referrals are registered correctly and credited to your account.

From the web:

• After clicking "Refer an Artist", click on "SHARE REFERRAL LINK"

I am receiving a “Wallet Setup” error when trying to generate a referral link. What’s wrong?

If you are receiving this error message, it means that your artist account does not currently have a Wallet setup to receive payments.

To start referring friends to UnitedMasters, you will need to first set up your Wallet. Simply tap "Go to Wallet" or tap into the Wallet to complete the setup. This process should be quick but may take a few business days to complete.

Once your Wallet is set up, you should be all set to start referring friends to UnitedMasters!

Please note that Team Members cannot set up a Wallet on behalf of an artist account. This action must be done when logged in using the primary email associated with your UnitedMasters account. 

I am receiving a “Something went wrong” error when trying to generate a referral link. What’s wrong?

If your UnitedMasters Wallet is set up and you’re still receiving an error when trying to create a referral link, please submit a request for support so our team is able to assist. Please make sure to include a screenshot of the error you are receiving as part of your support request, so our teams have relevant information. Our team will be able to review your account and determine if any other issues may be preventing you from successfully generating a referral link.

What will I get from each referral?

You will earn a $10 reward for each artist you refer that joins UnitedMasters SELECT.

Referral rewards will be applied to your account 60 days after the referred artist successfully starts and processes payment for their UnitedMasters membership. 

Is there a limit to the number of referrals I can earn?

Yes, UnitedMasters artists can earn up to $100 in referrals per calendar year through 10 successful referrals. PRIORITY (PARTNER) artists can earn up to $1,000 per calendar year through 100 successful referrals.

How do I know if my referral was accepted and applied to my friend's account?

As soon as you have made a successful referral, your “Refer an Artist” page will update to reflect however many artists you've referred to UnitedMasters. We’re working to bring more open communication and over time will also add email and notifications to keep you up to date.

I have referred an artist. Why do I not see any earnings from it yet?

It takes 60 days to process a successful referral. If the artist you refer starts a UnitedMasters membesrhip, but is later issued a refund for the membership, or payment is not successfully collected for the membership, the referral will be invalid and you won’t be entitled to the reward.

It’s important to remind your friends to ensure their payment method is accurate and up-to-date to avoid any issues paying for their UnitedMasters membership and ensuring your referral is processed correctly. Please note that UnitedMasters is unable to retroactively apply referrals, so please ensure your friend’s payment methods are accurate so you’re able to be rewarded!

My friend signed up and purchased a UnitedMasters membership, but forgot to use my link. Can I get my referral?

No, we’re unable to apply a referral retroactively to an account. 

Where can I see my referral earnings?

Once 60 days have passed since your friend has successfully signed up and processed payment for a UnitedMasters membership using your referral link, your earnings will appear in the UnitedMasters applicatoin. You will find your total earnings from referrals on the “Refer an Artist” page, or in the Wallet once the reward payment is processed.

What benefit does my friend receive for successfully using my referral code?

Referred artists will be eligible to purchase a UnitedMasters membership at a special discounted price of $39.99 USD for the first year (a $20 discount). After the first promotional year, their UnitedMasters membership will renew at the regular annual price of $59.99 USD.

Artists being referred must be new to UnitedMasters to be eligible for this promotional discount through the referral program. If the referred artist previously purchased a UnitedMasters membership, or claimed a 14-day free trial, they will not be eligible to be referred through this program.

Why was my referral bonus reversed and $10 was deducted from my Wallet?

Referral bonuses are awarded 60 days after the referred Artist(s) successfully start and process payment for a UnitedMasters membership. In the unlikely event that the Artist is issued a refund for their membership for whatever reason, your referral bonus may be reversed and you may see a negative amount posted in your Wallet.

I reached the yearly limit of referrals, now what?

First of all, congratulations on building a community of music entrepreneurs and independent artists! Unfortunately, for the remainder of the calendar year, you won’t be able to refer more artists. However, starting in January of the following year you’ll be able to get a new referral link. Please make sure to use the updated referral link moving forward.

Does my current membership tier matter when referring artists to a paid UnitedMasters membership through the referral program?

Not at all! Even if a paid UnitedMasters membership is not right for you at this time, it might be the best option for other artists in your network! Remember that with a non-paid UnitedMasters membership, if you receive a referral bonus, you will not be able to cash out your UnitedMasters Wallet until you have met the $20 USD minimum cash out threshold. Of course, you can upgrade to a paid UnitedMasters membership at any time if you’d like to cash out with no minimums as your balance covers any applicable processing fees and tax withholdings.

Can my referral promotional price be applied to a DEBUT+ membership instead of SELECT?

No, the referral promotional price cannot be applied to a UnitedMasters DEBUT+ membership. This promotion is reserved for new SELECT memberships.

Can I personalize my referral link?

No, we’re unable to personalize your referral link at this time. Your referral link is randomly generated for each artist account, so it’s unique to your account and ensures any successful referrals are accounted for.
