When adding a cover art image to your release submission, our system will automatically reject any images that do not meet our formatting requirements due to guidelines set by music services. If you run into this issue during the release submission flow, you will need to make adjustments to your cover art image before you're able to continue. Not to worry though, this article will help explain how to correctly size and format your cover art image based on music service guidelines!
Per style guides set in place by music services, you will need to make sure that your artwork is an exact square with a minimum of 3000 x 3000 pixels (6000 x 6000 max) and a minimum resolution of 72 dot per inch (dpi).
If you are having trouble resizing your artwork, we recommend services such as Canva or Adobe Express for editing your image. These services are free of charge and allow you to upload your original image, resize it to the correct pixel and dpi requirements, and export it for use on your release.
