Occasionally, when you submit a release to review, you’ll see that edits may be made to your release’s title or track titles on your behalf. This can occur if your release’s metadata does not meet music service guidelines based on what was submitted during the upload process. For example, music services do not allow for the usage of emojis in release names or track titles.
If a release is submitted for review that includes an emoji, our team may remove this from your release’s metadata in order to get your release approved and delivered to music services by your desired release date.
Other examples of this could include:
- The removal of an asterisk (*) or quotation marks (")
- Label name in the cover art that is not included in the label field
- Incorrect Explicit/Clean/Non-Explicit Tags
- Incorrect instrumental vs lyrical tag
- Any artist info in the Release Title or Track Titles
- Numbers in Track Titles
Please keep in mind that these edits are made to ensure your release is delivered on time to music streaming platforms. Additionally, we recommend submitting your releases as early as possible to ensure our team has enough time to review and request edits as needed (up to 3 weeks in advance).
We hope this information was helpful to you but if you have any other questions about what metadata is acceptable by music service, please don’t hesitate to submit a request for support.
