How can I get instant access to Spotify for Artists?

At UnitedMasters, we are part of Spotify's Preferred Provider Program! As part of the Spotify PPP, we're excited to bring our artists Spotify for Artists Instant Access, which enables UM artists that have met eligibility criteria (meaning have at least one release distributed to Spotify) to expedite access to their Artist Profile on the Spotify for Artists platform.

What is Spotify for Artists Instant Access?

UnitedMasters offers our artists “Instant Access” to claim your Spotify for Artists profile! Without Instant Access, an artist has to manually visit spotify.artists.com and submit information to be reviewed by Spotify’s team, which can take several days before you are granted access. With Instant Access, if you have had at least one release distributed to Spotify, you can claim your S4A artist profile instantly and start taking advantage of what S4A has to offer artists right away.

How does Instant Access work?

If you're eligible, you'll be delivered a “Dynamic Home” card in your account, which lays out the benefit of Instant Access. You can also visit your Artist Settings to initiate Instant Access. By tapping or clicking the Get Instant Access button, you'll be redirected to provide your Spotify listener credentials (or create a new Spotify account if needed). After successfully authenticating with Spotify, you'll be automatically logged into Spotify for Artists. It's that easy!

Can any UnitedMasters artist get Instant Access?

Yes! As long as you have completed artist mapping, and you have at least one release successfully delivered to Spotify, you'll be eligible for Instant Access. If you've only created a free DEBUT account (which doesn’t distribute music to Spotify), you will not be eligible for Instant Access. However, should you later upgrade to either DEBUT+ or SELECT, once your previous releases have been distributed to Spotify, you will become eligible.

Is Instant Access supported on all UnitedMasters platforms?

Yes, we’re rolling this out on all three platforms (Web, iOS and Android)!

Why would an artist want Spotify for Artists access?

Spotify for Artists offers detailed streaming and audience analytics that Spotify's teams do not directly provide UnitedMasters. Additionally, S4A offers you the ability to customize your Spotify bio, set an Artist “Pick” and use marketing tools like Canvas, Marquee and Discovery Mode (if you're eligible). Will the UM support team be able to assist UM artists with Spotify for Artists questions?

Not beyond questions or issues around Instant Access itself, no. For questions about features and functionality in Spotify for Artists, you'll need to head to the Spotify for Artists site itself, where you can request support directly from Spotify.

When I attempted to get Instant Access, I received a message stating “this artist profile has already been claimed.” How do I get access?

Spotify for Artists allows a single “owner” of any Spotify artist profile. If the profile has already been claimed, you’ll need to contact that account holder and they can manually invite you to the artist team via Spotify for Artists. With any questions regarding account ownership, you'll need to contact the Spotify for Artists team directly.

How it Works

1. Artists can either tap or click on the “Dynamic Home” card we’ve triggered on your home screen, or visit Artist Settings at any time. Below your Linked Artist Profiles, you'll see a new Spotify for Artists section.
2. If you're eligible, tap or click the “Access Spotify for Artists” button shown below. If you're not eligible, this button will be disabled - you'll need to ensure a release is distributed to Spotify before proceeding with your Spotify for Artists claim.
3. You'll be redirected to a Spotify web experience where you need to enter existing Spotify listener account credentials, or create a new Spotify listener account. 
4. You'll click “Agree” on the “Allow Spotify to connect to UnitedMasters” screen.
5. That’s it! You'll be redirected to the Spotify for Artists home page, with your newly granted Artist Profile shown in the sidebar in their roster.

Once you've completed the above steps, you'll be all set to access your Spotify for Artists account through UnitedMasters! Of course, if you have any questions or requests for our team, don't hesitate to submit a request for support.
