How do I monetize my music on SoundCloud?

UnitedMasters does not automatically monetize your music on SoundCloud. Artists who have a paid UnitedMasters membership have the following options to monetize their music on SoundCloud through UnitedMasters:

Please note that for every new music release you wish to monetize, a separate monetization form must be submitted. This ensures all tracks are correctly processed and delivered.

• UnitedMasters can deliver your release to SoundCloud and collect your royalties for you, like we do with other music services.

• If you have already uploaded your music to SoundCloud, UnitedMasters can manually monetize your uploads and collect your royalties for you.

Additionally, you must provide your SoundCloud profile URL to ensure accurate mapping and delivery of your music.

Specify your SoundCloud profile URL and the title of your release to ensure prompt processing of your monetization request.

Our team usually processes these requests within 1-2 days after you fill out the request form. However, SoundCloud's team can take some additional time to complete delivery on their end. In general, you can expect to see your releases on SoundCloud within 5-7 days of the submission, but this can vary.

If your release doesn’t appear on SoundCloud within the expected timeframe, double-check your form submission details for accuracy or follow up with our team for further assistance.

Please note that while most music services report royalties on a delay to UnitedMasters that is typically 30-45 days from the end of the month in which the streams were generated, SoundCloud reporting is typically received on a longer delay (5-6 months from the month in which the streams occurred or the monetization request is completed).

SoundCloud Profiles: Auto-Created vs. Self-Created

• Auto-Created SoundCloud profiles:

  • When you submit a SoundCloud monetization request with us, you will see a section where we ask for your SoundCloud profile page so we can ensure your releases get mapped correctly. However, if you do not have an existing SoundCloud profile, SoundCloud will auto-create one for you after we submit your monetization request!

  • When you request an auto-created profile from SoundCloud, the page is created and your releases will be delivered there. After the page is created for you, our team will then be able to add your email address to the account. This will trigger a verification email to you and give you access to control the account.

• Self-Created SoundCloud profiles:

  • In most cases, artists will already have a SoundCloud profile that they created themselves. This is a SoundCloud profile that you created on www.soundcloud.com in their normal profile creation/sign-up flow.
