UnitedMasters’ Split Pay is a feature available to artists with a paid UnitedMasters membership that allows you to split your royalty payouts with all of your collaborators on any track you distribute. We have two ways you can set up split pay:
Setting up split pay for new releases:
When drafting a new release, you can add collaborators to any track currently in the submission. To do this, simply add collaborators to each track in the 'Split Pay' section and assign them a percentage share. By default, you always start with 100%.
To be able to invite artists to split invitations on your release, your artist account have an active paid membership (DEBUT+, SELECT, or PARTNER) with UnitedMasters. DEBUT artists are unablet to invite artists to be split collaborators on their releases.
Setting up split pay for distributed releases:
You can set up splits for a distributed release by heading to the ‘MUSIC’ tab of your UnitedMasters account from the UnitedMasters website. From there you can edit the existing splits, or add entirely new collaborators to the release. Once all shares add up to 100%, you’ll be able to save and send the invitation(s) to your collaborators. If an invited collaborator doesn’t accept their Split Invitation within 30 days, their invite will expire, and any share that was allocated to them will revert back to you, as the release owner.
To be able to collect splits, all collaborators must have a UnitedMasters account. If the collaborators you add don’t have an account already, they’ll be prompted to create one as they accept their split invite.
Please note that UnitedMasters Producer accounts are not eligible to accept the Split Pay feature at this time. If you are collaborating with an artist who only has a UnitedMasters Producer account, please ensure that your collaborator creates a UnitedMasters Artist account by navigating to the ‘PROFILE PICKER’, and tapping 'CREATE A NEW PROFILE' when signed into their Producer account from the UnitedMasters iOS application or UnitedMasters website. Once the Artist account is created, please advise the collaborator to attempt to accept the Split Invitation.
